About Us

Family and Personal Histories was founded by Catherine Sampson from a love of genealogy and social history. Catherine has a passion for building stories and capturing oral history, in excess of 30 years experience of genealogical research and a keen interest in local and social history.  Catherine is also a creative photographer and well versed in “rescuing” and repairing damaged and fading old pictures. She is a Business Practitioner in Neuro-linguist Programming and a member of both the Society of Genealogists and the Association of Personal Historians.

Catherine realised very early the importance of capturing and preserving family stories before they were lost and how unique and fascinating they could be.

Each book is created with the utmost attention to detail and care and sensitivity.
